High Desert Friends is an ongoing series of acrylic paintings based on animals common to the region where I live. I approach these paintings with loose brushstrokes and unstructured backgrounds in vibrant yet muted colors inspired by the high desert landscape. I then use bold line-work akin to my tattoo work in order to define the main features.
